Meridian Finance Group named broker of the year by EXIM for the fourth time
The United States Import-Export Bank (EXIM) recognized Meridian Finance Group as Broker of the Year 2021. Meridian also received EXIM’s Broker of the Year award in 2000, 2003 and 2013. This year’s victory makes Meridian the second four-time winner of the award. The award was presented at the EXIM 2021 annual conference, which will be held virtually from September 21 to 23.
âEXIM appreciates our extensive collaboration with Meridian Finance Group over our many productive years working together on behalf of American exporters and workers. We look forward to the future as we continue to work to ensure successful US exports – especially small businesses – to markets around the world while supporting US jobs at home, âUrsula Wegrzynowicz, Account Manager of broker for EXIM, which presented the award, said.
“While most of Meridian’s business is underwritten by private sector insurance companies, we offer EXIM Bank policies to hundreds of exporters who would not find the credit insurance they need anywhere else,” said Gary Mendell, president of Meridian Finance Group. âWe value our partnership with EXIM and are proud of the work we do together to support US exports. Exporting is a key part of our country’s economic recovery, so we must continue to reach out and help even more US exporters start taking advantage of EXIM programs.
Meridian Finance Group specializes in commercial credit insurance, with representatives throughout the United States as well as – with its parent company, Texel Finance – offices in London, Brussels and Singapore. An EXIM registered broker, Meridian is one of EXIM’s 19 platinum level brokers and has been one of the top three producers of EXIM in terms of number of authorizations and amount of authorization.
In fiscal 2020, Meridian produced 235 authorizations, the second highest number among all brokers. Of these authorizations, 93% were for small businesses. Among new EXIM policies, Meridian produced the second highest number and the fourth highest clearance amount.
