âSince the start of the year, 50 RNs have left Stillwater Medical Center. Our RN turnover is over 20%,â Jenkins said.
With staff shortages at Stillwater Medical Center, Jenkins said morale was low due to burnout and unmatched workloads.
âSome nurses have left the hospital for more lucrative trips as a nurse, retirement or other non-bedside nursing jobs,â he said. “Others are leaving the profession altogether – working in retail, food service, being nannies or going back to school for ‘something else’.”
